2008 Aprilia RS125 0.1L Petrol · PO58 AUL

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status based on the most recent inspection data. The MOT conducted on September 21, 2024 at 29,606 miles passed with no defects recorded, indicating that the mechanical and electrical systems met the minimum standard at that time. This follows a period of clean passes in previous years, suggesting the motorcycle has been maintained to a standard that avoids immediate structural or operational failures. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for an 18-year-old machine, averaging approximately 1,645 miles per year. There is a significant gap in the records between the April 2015 test at 18,351 miles and the September 2024 test at 29,606 miles. This nine-year interval suggests the bike likely sat for long periods in storage or was used very sparingly. While low mileage reduces wear on the drivetrain and brake pads, long periods of stationary use can often lead to the degradation of rubber components and the onset of fluid-related issues. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on components affected by long-term storage and low usage. Since the record shows no recurring mechanical failures, it is vital to check for perished brake hoses, degraded fork seals, and seized calipers which do not always manifest during a standard MOT. Inspect the frame for surface corrosion, particularly around mounting points, as moisture can settle when a vehicle remains stationary. Given that the last test was nearly two years ago, verify the state of the tyres tread and the age code of the rubber to ensure they have not become brittle despite the low mileage.
