2017 BMW 318 2.0L Diesel · X555 ADR

This vehicle presents an exceptionally clean MOT history with a stable roadworthiness trend. The most recent test on 18 March 2026 at 40,224 miles resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a consistent pattern of clean passes dating back to 2022, indicating a vehicle that has been maintained to a high standard or has experienced very little mechanical stress. The mileage pattern is highly irregular. Between 24 May 2024 and 28 March 2025, the car covered only 3,249 miles. However, the odometer jumped significantly from 21,167 miles in March 2025 to 40,224 miles by March 2026. This sudden increase of 19,057 miles in a single year contrasts sharply with the previous three years of light use. While the total mileage remains low for a nine year old car, the recent surge in usage means the vehicle is now subject to more frequent wear on consumables. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on components that degrade during periods of inactivity. The long gaps of low usage prior to 2025 increase the risk of perished rubber seals, flat spots on tyres, or seized brake calipers. Check the brake discs for surface corrosion and ensure the battery health is optimal, as low-mileage BMWs often suffer from parasitic drain. Verify the condition of the suspension bushes and coil springs. Although the MOT records show no failures, the recent spike in mileage suggests the car is now being used more intensively. A manual check for oil leaks around the engine bay and a review of the service book will confirm if the mechanical maintenance kept pace with the sudden increase in road use.
