2012 Volkswagen Transporter 2.0L Diesel · YE61 AEU

The vehicle is currently roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent MOT on 9 September 2025 at 240,104 miles resulted in a clean pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a consistent pattern of passing tests without reported mechanical failures or structural concerns over the last three years. The mileage is high for a 2012 model, averaging roughly 17,150 miles per year. Between June 2023 and September 2025, the odometer rose from 219,171 to 240,104 miles, indicating a steady usage pattern of approximately 21,000 miles per year in the most recent period. This high-mileage profile suggests the vehicle has spent significant time in active service, likely as a commercial workhorse. The MOT record is unusually clean for a high-mileage Transporter, showing no recorded advisories for suspension bushes, brake disc wear, or chassis corrosion. While the tests on 14 June 2023 and 10 July 2024 show initial failures followed by immediate passes, the lack of specific defect data in the record makes it impossible to determine if these were minor administrative errors or mechanical faults. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on high-wear components that the MOT may not have flagged as critical. Check the condition of the timing belt and water pump, as these are subject to strict interval replacements regardless of MOT status. Inspect the underside for surface corrosion and check the clutch bite point and gearbox synchronisation to ensure the drivetrain has held up against the 240,000-mile workload.
