1964 Morris Minor 1.1L Petrol · 62 WDE

The vehicle presents a stable and exemplary maintenance trend, culminating in a completely clean MOT pass on 18 June 2026 at 85,312 miles. The tester recorded zero defects, indicating no immediate structural, mechanical, or systemic faults. This unblemished record suggests a diligent owner who kept the car in sound mechanical order, rather than neglecting it between long testing intervals. The recorded mileage of 85,312 miles over 62 years equates to a mere 1,376 miles annually, reflecting exceptionally light use. The 2018 test at 80,507 miles and the 2025 test at 83,828 miles reveal a gap of nearly seven years, during which the vehicle covered just 3,321 miles. Despite this prolonged period of minimal use, the subsequent 2026 test at 85,312 miles added only 1,484 miles in the final year. Such low mileage accumulation typically preserves drivetrain components but raises questions about the condition of perishable items like rubber suspension bushes, brake seals, and tyre sidewalls, which degrade with age rather than use. Although the MOT history shows zero defects, a buyer must physically inspect the vehicle for age-related deterioration typical of a 1964 Morris Minor. Pay close attention to structural integrity, particularly the chassis rails, sills, and floor pans, where hidden corrosion often lurks on long-standing vehicles. Examine the condition of the coil springs and suspension bushes for perishing, and check the brake calipers for binding, as infrequent use can cause pistons to seize. Verify the exhaust emissions comply with the older petrol engine standards, and ensure the tyres possess adequate tread depth and uncracked sidewalls, as standing for extended periods causes flat spots and rubber perishing. The pristine MOT record confirms mechanical competence, but a hands-on inspection remains essential to verify the condition of components that degrade through age rather than mileage.
