2009 Jaguar XK 5.0L Petrol · 65 BD

The 2009 Jaguar XK presents a stable roadworthiness profile, with no defects recorded in its last four MOT tests, including the most recent 2025-12-17 assessment at 51,714 miles. The vehicle has maintained compliance over 12 months, with no recurring issues or advisories. A single failed test on 2022-12-21 at 44,410 miles was recorded without defects, suggesting a possible administrative error or minor technical anomaly resolved before subsequent passes. The absence of structural corrosion, brake faults, or suspension issues in all tests indicates consistent maintenance. The mileage of 51,714 miles over 17 years equates to approximately 3,042 annual miles, significantly below the UK average for vehicles of this age. This low usage suggests infrequent operation, which can lead to dry rot in rubber components or corrosion in underbody areas. However, the MOT history shows no evidence of such issues, with all tests passing without advisories. A notable gap exists between the 2022-12-21 failure and the subsequent 2022-12-22 pass, both at 44,410 miles, raising questions about data accuracy but not mechanical integrity. A buyer should verify the condition of suspension bushes, coil springs, and exhaust emissions, as these components often degrade with age. Despite the clean MOT record, the low mileage implies potential neglect in fluid changes or battery maintenance. Inspect the brake discs and calipers for binding, and check for rust in wheel arches or sills, as prolonged inactivity can accelerate corrosion. The vehicle’s mechanical soundness is evident, but its usage history warrants a thorough pre-purchase inspection to confirm its operational readiness.
