2017 MINI Cooper 1.5L Petrol · A19 LBY

The 2017 MINI Cooper presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 17 September 2025 at 42,558 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of clean MOT outcomes since at least 2021. Annual mileage has stayed low for the vehicle's nine years of age. The record shows 22,211 miles at the 22 November 2021 test, rising to 28,028 by 18 November 2022, 32,419 by 13 October 2023, 37,615 by 11 October 2024, and 42,558 by September 2025. That averages under 5,000 miles per year. The sparse but consistent history shows no gaps or sudden accumulation, and every test passed with zero advisories on tyres, brakes, suspension bushes, or corrosion. A clean five-year MOT run with no advisories suggests the previous keeper kept basic upkeep current and the car avoided standing neglect severe enough to trigger test failures. Low use does, however, leave some items unproven by wear. The buyer should still inspect brake discs and calipers for seizing after long idle periods, check suspension arms and coil springs for perishing rubber, and confirm underneath structural integrity for any hidden rust not caught at test. Given the absence of recorded faults, no recurring mechanical trend needs correction. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on confirming the test-clean status holds in person, particularly around exhaust emissions and tyre sidewall condition, since neither has yet shown wear demanding attention.
