1984 Suzuki GS1000G 1.0L Petrol · A310 LBJ

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, maintaining a clean pass record over the last three years. The most recent inspection conducted on 03 May 2024 at 65,199 miles resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories. This follows a series of clean results from 2022 and 2023, indicating that the motorcycle has consistently met minimum safety standards without recurring mechanical failures or structural warnings. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 42-year-old machine, averaging approximately 1,552 miles per year. Between February 2021 and May 2024, the bike covered 5,784 miles, showing a consistent but light usage pattern. While the initial MOT failure on 27 February 2021 at 59,415 miles suggests a specific issue, the immediate pass that same day indicates the problem was addressed promptly. Such low mileage often masks potential degradation in rubber-based components and fluid dry-rot rather than mechanical wear from friction. Despite the clean MOT history, a buyer must perform a physical inspection focusing on components affected by low-mileage storage. The tester should check for perished brake lines, cracked fork seals, and perished suspension bushes which often fail from age rather than use. Given the age of the Suzuki GS1000G, close inspection of the frame and swingarm for hidden corrosion is vital, as MOT tests only flag structural rust once it compromises the integrity of the metal.
