1995 Honda CBX750 0.7L Petrol · A492 JEC

The roadworthiness of this Honda CBX750 remains difficult to verify due to the lack of a comprehensive test history. While the machine secured a pass on 16 September 2023, the immediate failure recorded on the same day suggests an initial administrative or mechanical hurdle that was rectified quickly. The absence of recurring advisories or repeat failures indicates that the motorcycle does not exhibit a pattern of chronic neglect, though the limited data set provides a narrow window into its long-term mechanical health. The recorded mileage of 55,900 miles over a 31-year lifespan averages to approximately 1,800 miles per annum, which is exceptionally low for a machine of this vintage. This usage profile implies the motorcycle has spent significant periods in storage rather than being subjected to consistent daily operation. Low-mileage machines often suffer from issues related to inactivity, such as fuel system degradation, perished rubber seals, and internal corrosion within the engine and fuel tank, rather than the mechanical fatigue typically associated with high-mileage examples. Prospective buyers must prioritise a thorough physical inspection of components prone to deterioration during long periods of dormancy. Focus your assessment on the condition of the brake hoses for signs of cracking, the fuel tank for internal rust, and the integrity of the suspension fork seals. Given the age of the vehicle, examine the frame and swingarm for structural corrosion that may not have been captured during a standard MOT test. Verify that the engine starts cleanly from cold and check for any weeping gaskets or seals that have hardened over time, as these are common failure points for motorcycles that have seen infrequent use.
