2017 Honda CR-V 1.6L Diesel · AB16 RJG

A consistent track record of clean MOT results defines this vehicle, with no recorded defects or advisories across seven consecutive annual inspections. The most recent test on 05 September 2026 confirms this trend of passing without any flagged mechanical issues, mirroring the results from the previous six years of testing dating back to 2020. This lack of recorded failures or advisories suggests a history of passing inspections without the presence of structural corrosion, exhaust leaks, or suspension wear being noted by examiners. The recorded mileage of 67,411 miles indicates a relatively steady usage pattern for a 2017 vehicle, averaging approximately 7,490 miles per year. This level of annual accumulation is consistent with typical residential or light commuting use rather than high-intensity motorway driving or heavy commercial application. Mechanically, this moderate mileage profile suggests that while components such as suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs have been subject to regular use, they have not been subjected to the accelerated wear typically seen in high-mileage vehicles. Given the absence of any recorded advisories regarding brake pipes, suspension linkages, or tyre tread depth, a physical inspection should focus on verifying the current state of these consumables. During a test drive, pay close attention to the steering response and listen for any knocks or knocks from the suspension when traversing uneven surfaces, as these can indicate wear in the bushes or ball joints that may not have yet reached the threshold for an MOT advisory. Additionally, check for any pedal judder or uneven braking force which could indicate the condition of the brake discs and calipers. Since no oil misting or fluid leaks were flagged in the recent history, it is prudent to inspect the engine bay and underbody for any signs of fresh seepage around gaskets or seals. While the MOT record is clear of structural concerns, a visual check of the subframe and exhaust system for any emerging surface corrosion is advisable, particularly as the vehicle enters its tenth year of operation. Ensuring that all lighting elements and wiper assemblies function correctly will supplement the clean official record during your physical evaluation.
