2005 Ford Focus 1.4L Petrol · AD54 BZR

The 2005 Ford Focus presents a stable maintenance trend at the time of its last assessment, passing the December 2021 test at 74,607 miles with zero defects recorded. However, this MOT expired nearly five years ago, meaning the vehicle currently lacks a valid roadworthiness certificate. Without a recent test, the current mechanical condition remains entirely unverified, rendering any assessment of its present stability purely speculative. The recorded mileage of 74,607 miles equates to an average of roughly 3,553 miles per year, which is exceptionally low for a vehicle of this age. While low mileage typically suggests minimal wear on drivetrain and suspension components, prolonged stationary periods can degrade consumables. Seized brake calipers, perished suspension bushes, and deteriorated rubber hoses often plague vehicles that cover short distances or stand idle for extended durations. A buyer must inspect the vehicle thoroughly in person, focusing on the vulnerabilities associated with long-term storage rather than high mileage. Examine the inner wings, sills, and subframes for structural corrosion, as salt and moisture cause significant rust on older Fords. Check the brake discs for severe pitting and binding calipers, and assess the condition of the tyre sidewalls for age-related cracking, as the rubber will have perished regardless of tread depth. Suspension bushes and exhaust mounts also require close scrutiny for deterioration.
