2012 Ford Motor Caravan 2.2L Diesel · AE12 DKN

The vehicle presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 21 March 2026 at 82,977 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, and the prior pass on 27 March 2025 at 82,517 miles was equally clean. The two failed tests in March 2024 and March 2025 were issued with no defects listed by the tester, indicating administrative or presentation issues rather than mechanical faults. No advisories for corrosion, suspension bushes, brake discs, or exhaust emissions appear anywhere in the record. The mileage pattern reflects exceptionally light use for a 14-year-old 2012 Ford motor caravan. It covered just 2,288 miles between the March 2024 test at 80,689 miles and the March 2026 test at 82,977 miles, averaging under 1,150 miles per year across that span. Annual accumulation has stayed near 1,800 miles or lower throughout the visible history. Such low totals suggest prolonged standing periods, which commonly allow tyres to perish, calipers to seize, and underbody corrosion to develop unseen despite clean MOT outcomes. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of structural integrity and brake components. The absence of recorded advisories does not rule out surface rust on chassis members or binding calipers from disuse. Check coil springs and suspension bushes for cracking caused by age rather than mileage. Verify the exhaust emissions system and fuel lines for degradation linked to intermittent operation. Given the fault-free record and minimal annual coverage, previous keepers appear to have stored the vehicle rather than neglected active upkeep. The repeated no-defect failures point to missed paperwork or presentation, not skipped servicing. Treat the clean history as a sound baseline, but confirm mechanical condition in person before purchase.
