Chronic corrosion and wear across the braking, exhaust, and suspension systems define the mechanical profile of this vehicle, with the most recent pass on 2026-01-23 highlighting a widening list of advisories. While the car has maintained its roadworthiness, there is a clear pattern of deteriorating components, particularly regarding the exhaust system and coil springs, which have appeared as recurring concerns over several testing cycles. The recorded mileage of 114,310 miles is consistent with the vehicle's eighteen-year age, averaging approximately 6,351 miles per year. This steady usage pattern suggests that drivetrain components and suspension bushings have been subjected to typical wear and tear, making the current advisories regarding corrosion and brake disc condition expected for a vehicle of this age and mileage. Particular attention must be paid to the braking system and suspension. The history shows repeated advisories for fluctuating service brakes and, most recently, front brake discs that are worn, pitted, or scored. During a test drive, feel for any pedal judder or a lack of linear braking force. Additionally, the recorded corrosion of both front and rear coil springs should be investigated; listen for knocks or creaks when traversing uneven surfaces or during sharp steering inputs. The exhaust system and engine seals require scrutiny due to documented corrosion, minor leaks, and a recorded oil leak. Check for an increased noise level at idle or a distinct smell of exhaust gases within the cabin. The presence of an oil leak, though noted as not excessive in the January 2026 test, should be verified by inspecting the engine bay for fresh residue and checking the ground beneath the vehicle for spotting.
