2016 Toyota 4-Runner 4.0L Petrol · AE65 JWN

A flawless record of roadworthiness characterizes this vehicle, which has passed its last four MOT tests without a single defect or advisory, including the most recent inspection on 13 February 2026. This trend suggests a stable mechanical state and a high standard of operational integrity over the last several years. The accumulation of 167,367 miles over a ten-year period is significantly higher than average, averaging roughly 16,737 miles annually. This level of usage places substantial demand on the drivetrain, chassis components, and all wearable consumables, meaning the vehicle has undergone considerably more mechanical stress than a typical example of this age. Despite the absence of recorded MOT failures, the high mileage necessitates a focused physical inspection of the suspension and steering systems. During a test drive, pay close attention to any knocks or clunks when traversing uneven surfaces, which could indicate worn suspension bushes or ball joints that have not yet reached a failure threshold. Further attention should be directed toward the drivetrain and braking performance. Listen for any unusual humming or whining from the differentials or transfer case during acceleration and deceleration, and check for any pedal judder or steering pull under heavy braking, which would suggest uneven disc wear or binding calipers common in high-mileage utility vehicles.
