2026 Honda Civic 2.0L Hybrid electric (clean) · AE75 CSO

The latest official DVSA MOT test for this 2026 Honda Civic was conducted on 26 January 2026, resulting in a PASS with no advisories or defects recorded. As the vehicle is essentially new and has only completed a single MOT examination, there is no longitudinal trend data from which to infer either improvement or deterioration in mechanical condition. The absence of any advisory items on the first statutory test suggests the car was presented in sound roadworthy condition, consistent with a near-new vehicle that has covered negligible mileage from the factory or dealership preparation process. With only 29 miles recorded against a vehicle that is already a 2026 model year, annual usage is effectively zero in any meaningful comparative sense. This is not a case of low-mileage accumulation but rather a car that has barely been driven since registration. Such minimal usage carries its own mechanical considerations, as prolonged standing can lead to issues such as brake disc surface corrosion from exposure to moisture, potential caliper seizure if the pistons have not been regularly exercised, and degradation of seals and flexible components that benefit from periodic movement. It is also worth noting that the recorded mileage is so low that the odometer reading should be physically verified and cross-referenced with the V5C registration document and any pre-delivery inspection records to confirm authenticity. From a buyer inspection perspective, several time-based rather than mileage-based checks are warranted given the vehicle's age profile. Even on essentially new tyres fitted from the factory, the sidewalls should be inspected for any signs of age-related perishing or cracking, particularly if the car has been stored in fluctuating temperature conditions. Brake discs, though unlikely to show significant wear, may exhibit light surface oxidation or pitting from standing; this should be cleaned off through gentle braking during the test drive, but any persistent judder or uneven binding warrants further investigation. The 12-volt battery should be load-tested, as units fitted at the factory can lose capacity if the vehicle has been stored for extended periods without being kept on a maintenance charge, and this is a common failure point on new cars that have sat on forecourts. Fluid degradation should also be considered despite the low mileage. Engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and the automatic or manual transmission fluid all deteriorate over time through moisture absorption and additive depletion, so confirming the service history documentation and the date stamps on any dealer-fitted services is important. Where the service book shows work carried out by date rather than mileage, verify that the intervals comply with the manufacturer's time-based recommendations. Finally, ensure that all digital systems, including infotainment, driver assistance features, and emissions control diagnostics, are functioning correctly and that any manufacturer warranty or recall work has been completed and recorded, as this provides the strongest assurance of the vehicle's ongoing structural and mechanical integrity for the prospective buyer.
