2004 Toyota Yaris 1.0L Petrol · AJ04 HKF

The 2004 Toyota Yaris presents a currently roadworthy status, having passed its most recent MOT on 26 June 2025 at 134,449 miles with no defects recorded. The maintenance trend reflected in the official record is stable, with every annual test from June 2023 through June 2025 resulting in a pass once minor administrative re-tests were cleared. No advisories or mechanical faults appear at any stage, indicating the vehicle has not shown worsening wear or recurring structural concerns across the observed period. Annual mileage sits at a typical level for a 22-year-old car. The record shows 107,596 miles on 2 June 2023, rising to 120,586 miles by 20 June 2024 and 134,449 miles by 26 June 2025. That equates to roughly 12,000 to 14,000 miles added in each interval, or about double the 6,111-mile per-year average implied by total use. The data is sparse but clean, with no gaps longer than twelve months and no flagged corrosion, suspension bushes, brake discs, or exhaust emissions failures across the three years reviewed. The two failures logged on the same dates as passes, at 107,596 miles on 2 June 2023 and at 134,441 miles on 26 June 2025, carry no recorded defects. This pattern suggests clerical or documentation issues at the testing station rather than mechanical rejection, not owner neglect of consumables such as tyres or wiper blades. Previous keepers appear to have maintained basic statutory testing discipline, though the absence of advisories means latent wear on coil springs or binding calipers was not disclosed. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion given the vehicle's age and salt-exposure risk. Verify brake caliper freedom, suspension bush condition, and exhaust integrity in person, since the MOT record offers no evidence either for or against hidden degradation. The clean history supports a sound baseline, but 134,449 miles demands hands-on confirmation of drivetrain and chassis health before purchase.
