A history of generally clean roadworthiness is evident in the recent record, though it is interrupted by two failures in 2023 and 2024 that were resolved without specific defects being listed in the public record. A more severe failure in 2021 highlighted critical safety concerns regarding tyre integrity and lighting compatibility. The most recent test on 3 November 2024 resulted in a pass with no defects, indicating that the vehicle currently meets the minimum legal requirements for road use. The recorded mileage of 127,276 miles over a 20-year period reflects a typical annual accumulation of approximately 6,364 miles. This level of use suggests a moderate amount of wear on the drivetrain and chassis components. A gap in the testing history between 2019 and 2021 is present, which may indicate a period where the vehicle was not in active use or was off the road. The 2021 record is the most significant area of concern, specifically the dangerous failure of both rear tyres where cords were exposed, alongside a major cut to the offside front tyre. While these items were corrected to achieve a pass, the recurring tyre advisories dating back to 2019 necessitate a thorough inspection of the current tyre tread depths and sidewall condition. During a test drive, feel for any steering pull or vibration that could suggest lingering alignment issues or wear in the suspension linkages. The failure regarding incompatible HID bulbs in 2021 indicates a previous installation of non-standard lighting. Verify that the current headlamps provide a consistent beam pattern and that no warning lights are present on the dashboard. Given the vehicle's age and weight, listen for knocks or clunks when driving over speed bumps or uneven road surfaces, as this would indicate wear in the suspension bushes or coil springs, components that typically degrade over this mileage.
