2007 Land Rover Discovery 2.7L Diesel · AJ57 VWM

The Discovery presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the most recent MOT on 26 January 2024 at 205,049 miles returning a pass with no defects recorded. Prior tests show the same clean outcome, with passes on 26 January 2023 at 194,261 miles and 17 January 2022 at 181,040 miles. The only blemish is a failed test on 23 January 2023 at 194,241 miles, reversed three days later at nearly identical mileage with no defects listed, indicating an administrative or non-mechanical rejection rather than a genuine fault. Annual mileage averages around 10,792 miles against the vehicle's 19-year life, a typical use rate for a 2007 Land Rover. The records show steady accumulation: 181,040 miles in January 2022, 194,261 a year later, and 205,049 by January 2024, a gain of roughly 13,000 miles per year with no standing gaps or sudden jumps. The sparse four-entry history offers little depth, but the consistent passes and absent advisories suggest the previous keeper addressed consumables before each test. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of structural corrosion on chassis rails and subframes, as Disco 3 platforms of this age commonly suffer hidden rust despite clean MOT sheets. Suspension bushes, front lower arms, and air spring integrity warrant hands-on checks given 205,000 miles of UK road use. Brake disc wear, caliper operation, and exhaust emissions should be verified on a cold start, since the record flags nothing but offers no measure of remaining component life. The three-day 2023 fail with no listed defect prevents firm conclusion on that event, so request the original test station notes before purchase.
