This vehicle’s roadworthiness cannot be assessed due to the complete absence of MOT history. Without any recorded test dates, advisories, or pass/fail outcomes, there is no evidence to determine whether the vehicle has undergone regular maintenance, suffered recurring mechanical failures, or even been legally roadworthy in the past. The lack of data means critical components—such as suspension integrity, brake system condition, or structural corrosion—cannot be evaluated for wear patterns or deterioration trends. Buyers must treat this as a red flag, as no official inspection history exists to verify compliance with UK roadworthiness standards. Mileage data is entirely absent, making it impossible to correlate usage with the vehicle’s age or service intervals. The absence of any MOT entries suggests either the vehicle was never tested, or records were never logged with the DVSA. This could imply neglect, non-compliance with legal requirements, or a deliberate attempt to obscure the vehicle’s history. Without mileage figures, there is no basis to estimate serviceable life for components like timing belts, differential fluid, or catalytic converters. Even basic wear indicators—such as tyre tread depth or brake pad thickness—cannot be inferred from the record. Given the complete lack of inspection data, a prospective buyer must prioritise a thorough mechanical inspection with a focus on high-risk areas. The suspension system—particularly coil springs, bushes, and shock absorbers—should be examined for uneven wear or leaks, as these are common failure points in older commercial vehicles. Brake systems demand scrutiny: binding calipers, uneven pad wear, or warped discs are often silent indicators of past neglect. Structural integrity is another critical concern; rust penetration in wheel arches, subframes, or sills can compromise safety without visible external signs. Exhaust emissions systems should also be checked, as failures here are frequently recorded in MOTs and could suggest poor engine maintenance. Without prior MOT evidence, buyers should assume the worst-case scenario for all major components.
