The most recent MOT result from August 7th, 2024, resulted in a failure. The recurring mechanical pattern across the recent history involves issues with suspension components, specifically ball joints and associated dust covers, as well as brake disc wear and service brake fluctuations. The trend in the MOT history shows a pattern of issues being flagged, with the most recent failure highlighting several worn components, including tyre wear close to the legal limit on multiple tyres and noted play in the offside front upper suspension arm ball joint. Given the mileage of 185,732 miles on a vehicle that is approximately 20 years old, the usage is consistent with typical annual mileage, suggesting normal wear on consumables and suspension parts is expected. The main risk pattern is related to suspension integrity and brake system wear. A buyer should first thoroughly inspect the front suspension components, paying close attention to the ball joints and their associated dust covers, as these were noted as severely deteriorated in the most recent inspection. Secondly, check the condition of all four tyres, as they were all noted as being worn close to the legal limit. Finally, examine the brake discs and check for any unusual noises or vibrations when the brakes are applied.
