2024 Suzuki Gsxs 1000 RQ M4 Petrol · AS60 LAD

At the time of writing, no DVSA MOT test history is available for this 2024 Suzuki GSX-S1000 RQ M4. The vehicle is therefore either very recently registered, exempt from the MOT requirement due to its age, or has not yet been presented for testing. Because the first compulsory MOT for a new motorcycle in the United Kingdom is not required until it reaches three years of age, the absence of recorded tests is entirely consistent with the motorcycle being approximately two years old. As such, there are no pass outcomes, failures, advisories, or defect entries to evaluate, and no longitudinal trend in maintenance or roadworthiness can be drawn from the official database. Recorded mileage has not been supplied, and there is no MOT history against which annual accumulation can be measured. For a sports-oriented naked motorcycle of this class, typical UK usage tends to fall between two thousand and six thousand miles per year, often skewed toward lower figures when the machine is used as a weekend or fair-weather rider rather than a daily commuter. Given that no mileage data exists in this case, it is essential that the prospective buyer confirms the exact figure from the odometer, ideally corroborated by service invoices or warranty documentation, and reviews it against the registration date on the V5C logbook to establish a plausible annual rate. A motorcycle of this age with very low mileage should be treated with the same caution as a high-mileage example, as prolonged standing can introduce its own set of mechanical concerns distinct from those caused by wear. In the absence of any MOT advisory or defect history, the buyer must rely on a thorough physical inspection and pre-purchase evaluation. For a machine of this vintage, even with relatively modest use, attention should be directed toward age-related deterioration rather than purely mileage-driven wear. Tyres should be examined closely for sidewall perishing and ozone cracking, particularly if the motorcycle has been stored in fluctuating temperatures, and the production date code on the sidewall should be checked to ensure the rubber is not beyond four to five years old regardless of tread depth. Brake discs should be inspected for surface corrosion and pitting, which can develop rapidly during periods of standing, and calipers should be checked for free movement and binding pistons. The 12-volt battery is a particular concern on a low-use sports machine, as repeated shallow discharge cycles from infrequent riding will significantly shorten its service life; a load test or voltage check under load is highly advisable. All fluid systems, including brake fluid, clutch fluid, and coolant, are subject to calendar-based degradation and should be inspected for colour, clarity, and age, with replacement intervals followed regardless of mileage. Drive chain and sprocket condition, fork seal integrity for any oil weeping, and the general condition of the electrical harness and switchgear should also form part of the assessment. A test ride, where permissible under the seller's insurance, should focus on cold-start behaviour, smooth throttle response across the rev range, absence of warning lights on the instrument cluster, and any irregular noises from the transmission or camshaft area which might suggest valve clearance inspection requirements. Any fault codes stored in the ECU can typically be read via the dealer diagnostic tool, and a clear run with no intermittent misfires or flat spots will provide reassurance. Finally, the service book or digital service record should be verified for stamp continuity at the manufacturer-recommended intervals, and any remaining manufacturer or extended warranty cover confirmed in writing, as this provides meaningful protection on a near-new performance motorcycle where latent component failures can be costly to rectify.
