2008 Ford Transit 2.2L Diesel · AV08 KSX

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, maintaining a clean pass record over the last three years. The most recent inspection conducted on December 21 2023 at 183,691 miles resulted in no defects or advisories, indicating that the mechanical and structural components met the minimum standard at that time. Following a single failure in July 2020, the vehicle has consistently passed consecutive tests without recorded faults. The mileage pattern is consistent with a typical-use commercial vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 10,000 miles per year. Data shows a steady progression from 147,087 miles in July 2020 to 176,640 miles in July 2022, eventually reaching 183,691 miles by late December 2023. This regular usage suggests consistent operation rather than long periods of stationary which can degrade seals. The lack of advisories in the final three tests implies that the previous owners likely addressed minor wear items before they escalated into failures. Despite the clean MOT history, a buyer must account for the high-mileage nature of an 18-year-old Ford Transit. The absence of recorded advisories in the latest tests does not guarantee components are nearing the end of life. An in-person inspection should focus on the structural integrity of the chassis and mounting pans, as corrosion is a common failure point for this generation. Additionally, check the suspension bushes, shock absorbers, and brake lines for wear, as these often show significant degradation beyond 180,000 miles.
