2001 Renault Kangoo 1.4L Petrol · AV51 YPN

The vehicle presents a high level of roadworthiness with a remarkably stable maintenance trend over the last five years. The most recent test conducted on 14 October 2025 at 37,699 miles passed with no defects or advisories. This streak of clean passes indicates that the vehicle has remained well-maintained and has not suffered from the typical mechanical degradation often seen in vans of this age. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a twenty-five year old Renault, averaging approximately 1,500 miles annually. Between October 2021 and October 2025, the vehicle covered only 1,130 miles, moving from 36,569 to 37,699. This extremely low usage suggests that the wear on drivetrain components, engine internals, and gearbox is minimal. However, such long periods of standing can lead to the perish of rubber-based components and the degradation of fluids, which are not always captured in an MOT test. Despite the clean MOT history, a buyer must perform a physical inspection focusing on structural integrity and the condition of age-related parts rather than mileage. Low-mileage vehicles of this era often suffer from hidden corrosion in the sills, floor pans, and suspension mounting points where moisture collects. The inspector should check for cracks in the suspension bushes and perished hoses, as these materials dry out over time regardless of distance driven. Additionally, the brake discs should be checked for pitting or surface rust which frequently occurs when a vehicle sits stationary for extended periods.
