2003 Citroen Berlingo 1.9L Diesel · AV53 LRE

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a consistent clean pass record over the last several years. The most recent test conducted in September 2024 at 87,345 miles resulted in no defects, indicating that the vehicle currently meets the minimum safety and emissions standards. This follows a brief failure in September 2022 which was rectified immediately to achieve a pass, suggesting that the current owner is proactive in addressing mechanical requirements as they arise. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 23-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 3,800 miles per annum. Between September 2021 and September 2024, the car covered only 7,540 miles, showing a very consistent low-usage trend. While this low mileage reduces the wear and tear on the drivetrain and engine components, the long intervals between uses can sometimes lead to issues related to seals and age-related degradation. The lack of recorded advisories in the last three tests suggests the vehicle has not been subjected to harsh environments or heavy-duty commercial work. An in-person inspection should focus on the structural integrity of the chassis and bodywork, as older Citroen vehicles are prone to corrosion regardless of mileage. Pay close attention to the rubber components, such as suspension bushes and brake hoses, which can perish and crack over two decades of sitting stationary. Given the low annual mileage, check the brakes for flat spots or rust on the discs, as infrequently used vehicles often suffer from seized calipers. The overall mechanical history indicates a well-maintained example, but the age of the components remains the primary risk factor for potential mechanical failure.
