2016 Honda Jazz 1.3L Petrol · AX16 PLU

The most recent MOT test conducted on 12 August 2026 resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. Reviewing the MOT history from 2022 through to 2026, the maintenance trend appears exceptionally stable and consistent. The absence of any recorded failures or even minor advisories suggests that the vehicle has been well-kept or has simply avoided the typical wear-and-tear issues associated with its age. This clean record provides a strong indication of the vehicle's current structural integrity and general mechanical compliance. The recorded mileage of 21,926 miles is significantly lower than the national average for a ten-year-old vehicle, representing an annual usage rate of approximately 2,193 miles. While this low mileage implies minimal wear on the engine, gearbox, and suspension components, it also indicates that the vehicle may have spent extended periods stationary. Such usage patterns can lead to specific mechanical concerns that are not always detected during a standard MOT inspection, particularly regarding the health of rubber seals, fluids, and components that rely on regular movement to remain in optimal condition. Because the MOT history is clean and the mileage is low, your inspection should focus on age-related degradation rather than wear-related failure. Closely examine the tyres for any signs of perishing, such as sidewall cracking or surface crazing, as rubber can harden and lose grip over time regardless of tread depth. You should also inspect the brake discs for excessive corrosion or pitting, which can occur when a vehicle is not driven frequently, and listen for any signs of binding calipers or uneven braking during your test drive. It is also essential to confirm that time-based servicing has been performed, as engine oil, brake fluid, and coolant should be replaced according to the manufacturer's calendar intervals to prevent moisture contamination and internal degradation. Furthermore, pay particular attention to the condition of the 12V battery, as infrequent driving can lead to incomplete charging cycles and reduced battery longevity. Check the rubber boots on the drive shafts and the condition of the suspension bushes for any signs of dry rot or cracking, which are common in vehicles that have seen low usage. Finally, verify the service book to ensure that all scheduled maintenance has been carried out based on time rather than just mileage, as neglecting fluid changes in a low-mileage car can lead to sludge formation and other long-term reliability issues.
