2023 Tesla Model Y Performance AWD Electric · B5 JSV

This Tesla Model Y Performance AWD, tested most recently on 2 March 2026 at 11,613 miles, holds a clean MOT record with no defects or advisories recorded. The vehicle passed without issue, indicating no immediate mechanical or structural failures at the time of inspection. While the record is sparse, the absence of recurring faults suggests the vehicle has not experienced persistent issues requiring repeated attention. However, the lack of advisories or defects does not preclude the need for a thorough independent inspection, particularly given the vehicle’s low mileage and the nature of its electric powertrain components. The recorded mileage of 11,613 miles over approximately three years—roughly 3,871 miles annually—is unusually low for a vehicle of this age and category. Such low mileage could imply limited use, extended periods of storage, or even potential odometer manipulation, though the latter cannot be confirmed without further evidence. The gap between the last MOT test and today (15 months) is standard for an electric vehicle, which often benefit from longer intervals between servicing due to reduced wear on friction-based components. Nevertheless, prolonged inactivity can introduce risks such as flat tyres, degraded battery health, or corrosion in less protected areas. Given the limited MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an inspection of the suspension components, including coil springs, bushes, and struts, as these are not typically covered by the MOT but can degrade over time even with low mileage. The brakes—though not flagged in the MOT—should be assessed for uneven wear or binding calipers, especially if the vehicle has been stationary for extended periods. The battery health and thermal management system warrant scrutiny, as electric vehicles are susceptible to degradation from prolonged disuse or improper charging cycles. Finally, a visual inspection for corrosion, particularly around the wheel arches, underbody, and suspension mounts, is essential, as low mileage does not negate the risk of environmental damage over time.
