2020 Mercedes-Benz S 350 L Grand ED Executive D A 2.9L Diesel · BA69 MPO

The most recent MOT test conducted in June 2026 resulted in a pass with no recorded defects. Evaluating the overall maintenance trend, the vehicle demonstrates a high level of stability. Following a single advisory in May 2023 regarding tyre condition, the subsequent tests have been entirely clean. This consistency suggests that the vehicle has been well-maintained and that any minor wear-and-tear issues identified in the past have been addressed, preventing them from escalating into MOT failures. The recorded mileage of 144,327 miles indicates a high-usage profile for a vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 24,000 miles per year. While this is significantly higher than the national average, high-mileage vehicles that have primarily covered motorway distances often benefit from more consistent engine operating temperatures and less frequent gear changes compared to urban vehicles. However, the mechanical implications of this mileage are significant. You should anticipate that consumables and heavy-duty components, such as the suspension system, braking components, and various rubber seals, will be approaching the end of their optimal service life. During your physical inspection and test drive, you should focus on the mechanical integrity of the chassis and drivetrain. Listen closely for any suspension clunks, knocks, or uneven vibrations when driving over road imperfections, which may indicate worn suspension bushes, ball joints, or failing shock absorbers. Pay particular attention to the braking performance; any shuddering through the pedal or steering wheel during deceleration could signal warped brake discs, while a pulling sensation might suggest binding calipers. Given the high mileage, it is also essential to verify that the service history is documented and up to date, specifically regarding oil changes and transmission maintenance. Finally, conduct a thorough visual inspection of the tyres to ensure no recurrence of the perishing or cracking noted in previous advisories. Check the sidewalls for any bulging or age-related degradation and ensure the tread is even across the tyre width to rule out alignment issues. Examine the engine bay for any evidence of fluid leaks from gaskets or hoses, and check the condition of the drive belts. Because this is a high-specification Mercedes-Benz, ensure all electronic auxiliary systems and the 12V battery are performing optimally, as the high mileage and complex electrical architecture can lead to increased wear on the charging and starting systems.
