2012 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2L Petrol · BD12 YLS

The vehicle currently presents a stable roadworthiness status, following a clean MOT pass on 19 June 2025 at 72,081 miles. This recent result showed no defects, indicating that the car met all legal requirements during its last inspection. While the history shows instances of failure in previous years, the trend over the last two years suggests that the current owner is proactive in rectifying identified faults to bring the vehicle back to a passing standard. The mileage profile is notably low for a fourteen-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 5,150 miles per year. Between June 2023 and June 2024, the car covered 2,644 miles, while it saw a higher usage of 10,943 miles in the year leading up to the 2025 test. This inconsistent usage reduces strain on the drivetrain and engine, though the low overall mileage can sometimes lead to the degradation of rubber components and surface corrosion on brake discs if the vehicle sits stationary for extended periods. A buyer should pay close attention to the specific causes of the failures in June 2023 and June 2024, as the record does not detail the exact mechanical faults. Given the age of the Corsa, a physical inspection must focus on structural integrity around the sills and wheel arches, which are common failure points for this model. Checking the suspension bushes for perish and inspecting the brake calipers for seizing is essential, as low mileage does not necessarily prevent age-related wear of these critical components.
