2016 Ford Transit 2.2L Diesel · BD65 AEO

The 2016 Ford Transit remains roadworthy, with no defects recorded in its most recent 2026 MOT at 133,417 miles. The maintenance trend is stable, as all five consecutive MOTs from 2021 to 2026 passed without issues. No advisories or failures were noted across the entire history, indicating consistent upkeep. The vehicle’s mechanical systems appear to have been maintained to a standard that meets legal requirements, though the absence of recorded faults does not guarantee absence of underlying wear. The mileage of 133,417 miles at 10 years old equates to an average of 13,342 miles annually, which is above the typical range for its age. Notable gaps in the MOT timeline include a 14-month interval between the 2021 test (71,215 miles) and the 2022 test (101,063 miles), during which the vehicle gained 29,848 miles. This rapid accumulation suggests heavy usage, which could accelerate wear on consumables like tyres and brake components. Subsequent tests show steady progression, with 113,155 miles in 2023 and 123,000 miles in 2025, but no evidence of systemic failures. A buyer should inspect the suspension for worn bushes or coil springs, as high mileage often affects these parts. Brake discs and calipers may show signs of uneven wear, particularly if the vehicle was used intensively. Corrosion in the underbody or chassis is another risk, given the age and mileage. While the MOT history shows no immediate concerns, these components warrant physical examination to confirm their condition. The lack of recorded faults is positive but does not eliminate the need for a thorough pre-purchase check.
