2017 Land Rover Discovery 2.0L Diesel · BF17 ACV

The Discovery presents a currently roadworthy status following the most recent MOT test on 25 March 2026 at 68,169 miles, where the tester recorded a pass with no defects. Maintenance trend across the available history reads as stable, with every annual examination from March 2023 through March 2025 also returning passes and zero advisories. The sole anomaly appears in the preceding test on 17 March 2026 at 68,013 miles, which logged a failure yet listed no defects; this eight-day turnaround to a clean pass suggests either a procedural rejection or an undocumented rectification, not a mechanical deterioration. Mileage accumulation sits at roughly 7,574 miles per year against the vehicle's nine-year life, a figure consistent with typical private use. The records show linear progression: 54,832 miles in March 2023, 60,975 in March 2024, 64,923 in March 2025, and 68,013 to 68,169 across the two March 2026 entries. No abrupt jumps or stagnant gaps indicate even wear exposure on drivetrain and consumables. Prior keepers appear to have maintained scheduled testing discipline, as each anniversary test falls within a narrow March window and the absence of advisories implies they addressed any minor items before examination. Despite the unblemished MOT ledger, a buyer should still commission an independent inspection of core mechanical assemblies. Land Rover platforms of this era commonly exhibit fatigue in front suspension bushes and rear coil springs that a cursory test might not flag as defective. Examine brake discs for lip wear and calipers for binding, particularly given the low annual mileage may have encouraged corrosion from standing. Probe chassis outriggers and subframe mounts for structural rust, as moisture ingress remains a known weak point on these models.
