2022 Volkswagen ID3 Life Electric · BK22 EVW

A relatively clean roadworthiness profile defines this vehicle, characterized by a recent absence of defects following a single failure in early 2025. The most recent test on 14 January 2026 resulted in a pass with no recorded defects, showing an improvement from the 27 January 2025 failure where the offside front headlamp aim was recorded as too low. While the headlamp issue was rectified, the 2025 record also flagged both nearside and offside front tyres as being worn close to the legal limit or worn on the edges, though no subsequent advisories for tyre wear appeared in the 2026 inspection. The recorded mileage of 23,337 miles over approximately four years indicates a low annual usage rate of roughly 5,834 miles. This pattern of low mileage suggests the vehicle has seen lighter-than-average road use, which typically results in less mechanical wear on heavy-duty components such as the suspension bushes, coil springs, and braking system. However, the low frequency of movement can sometimes lead to uneven tyre wear if the vehicle is frequently driven on specific routes or if alignment is slightly out, a factor supported by the edge wear noted in the 2025 advisory. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the front tyre condition and wheel alignment during a test drive. Given the previous advisory regarding edge wear on both front tyres, it is necessary to inspect the tread depth across the entire width of the tyre and check for any signs of uneven scrubbing. On the road, listen for any rhythmic thumping or humming noises from the front end which could indicate irregular tyre wear, and check for any steering pull or a tendency for the vehicle to wander, which might suggest that the previous alignment issues were not fully resolved or that suspension components are settling unevenly. Beyond the tyres, the lack of recorded defects in the latest test suggests the structural integrity and lighting systems are currently within operational parameters. However, because the 2025 failure specifically identified headlamp aim, a thorough check of the headlight leveling function should be performed to ensure the beam pattern remains stable and does not fluctuate when the vehicle is loaded. The absence of any advisories regarding brake discs, pads, or suspension linkages in the most recent 2026 test provides a baseline of current compliance, but the low mileage usage profile warrants a physical inspection of the braking surfaces for any signs of surface corrosion or glazing from infrequent use.
