2005 Vauxhall Astra 1.8L Petrol · BP05 AAF

The vehicle's roadworthiness status shows a worsening trend following a failure in the most recent test on 19 June 2025. While the vehicle achieved clean passes in the 2022, 2023, and 2024 tests with no defects recorded, the sudden failure in 2025 without specific defect details listed in this summary indicates a regression in its compliance status. The recorded mileage of 98,572 miles over a 21-year period averages approximately 4,694 miles per year. This represents low annual usage for a 2005 Vauxhall Astra. The MOT history shows consistent annual testing from 27 May 2022 through to 19 June 2025, suggesting a regular inspection interval despite the low frequency of road use. Because the 2025 failure lacks specific recorded defects, a physical inspection is required to identify the cause of the non-compliance. A buyer should prioritise checking for common age-related issues such as corrosion on the underside, structural integrity of the sills, and the condition of suspension bushes or coil springs. Given the low mileage, the tester should also examine brake discs and calipers for surface pitting or seizure caused by long periods of inactivity.
