2007 Ford Mondeo 2.0L Diesel · BT57 APX

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, maintaining a clean pass record for the last three years. The most recent test conducted in December 2023 at 197,861 miles resulted in no defects or advisories. This follows a period of consecutive clean passes in 2021 and 2022, indicating that the vehicle has been maintained to a standard that prevents MOT failures despite its high mileage. The mileage pattern is consistent with typical usage for a vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 10,400 miles per annum. Data shows a steady accumulation between November 2020 and December 2023, where the car covered 13,541 miles over a three-year period. The failure in November 2020 at 184,320 miles appears to be an isolated incident, as the vehicle passed a re-test just two days later. This gap suggests a minor issue that was promptly rectified rather than a chronic mechanical failure. Despite the clean MOT history, the high mileage requires a focused inspection on components susceptible to significant wear at nearly 200,000 miles. A physical inspection should prioritize the structural integrity of the chassis, particularly around the sills and wheel arches where corrosion often affects this generation of Mondeo. The buyer should also examine the suspension bushes and coil springs for fatigue, as these components often degrade over high distances before triggering an MOT failure. Checking the brake system for binding calipers or excessive disc wear is also necessary to ensure the vehicle remains safe between annual tests.
