2023 Mazda 3 2.0L Petrol · BU23 FWX

A spotless MOT record to date indicates the 2023 Mazda 3 has not been flagged for any roadworthiness defects, with the most recent test on 16 July 2026 confirming a pass and no recorded issues. The absence of advisories or failures across the available history suggests the vehicle has, at least in official testing, met the required safety and emissions standards consistently. At 26,988 miles the car averages roughly 9,000 miles per annum, a mileage rate that sits comfortably within normal usage for a three‑year‑old family hatchback. The steady accumulation shows no abrupt spikes that would imply periods of intensive high‑speed driving, nor are there any unexplained gaps between tests that might hint at prolonged storage. Mechanically, this moderate exposure typically translates to wear levels on consumables—such as brake pads, tyres and clutch components—that are in line with the vehicle’s age. When conducting a road‑test, pay particular attention to the front and rear suspension assemblies: listen for any clunking or knocking over bumps that could reveal worn bushings or deteriorating coil springs. Apply the brakes firmly at moderate speed and note any pulsation, excessive pedal travel or noise that might point to disc wear, caliper binding or uneven pad thickness. While the MOT did not record any steering faults, a subtle pull to one side or a vague vibration in the steering wheel at higher speeds can be an early sign of alignment drift or worn steering rack components. Finally, inspect the tyre tread depth and sidewall condition for uneven wear patterns that could betray mis‑alignment or suspension issues, and verify that all lighting, indicators and exhaust emissions are functioning correctly. Even with a clean MOT history, a thorough pre‑purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic remains advisable to confirm that wear items are within acceptable limits and that no latent defects have developed since the last test.
