2014 Volkswagen Caddy 2.0L Diesel · C14 RKS

The 2014 Volkswagen Caddy holds a valid roadworthy status. The most recent DVSA test on 19 February 2025 at 225,977 miles, some seventeen months before the current July 2026 date, returned a pass with no defects recorded. Across the five examinations between October 2020 and February 2025, the van cleared each without advisories. This maintenance trend is stable, showing neither degradation nor sudden improvement. Mileage stands at 225,977 against an approximate twelve-year lifespan, equating to roughly 18,800 miles annually and marking the van as high-use. The October 2020 test at 126,232 miles preceded the November 2021 check at 141,290 miles, a modest 15,058-mile gain. From the December 2022 reading of 162,160 miles to the February 2024 test at 195,561 miles, the odometer climbed 33,401 miles in fourteen months. The final jump to 225,977 by February 2025 added 30,416 miles. The record is sparse before 2020, yet the clean passes imply previous keepers addressed statutory requirements despite the heavy schedule. No tester flagged suspension, braking, or structural faults across the history. The buyer should still inspect front suspension bushes and rear coil springs for fatigue, as 225,977 miles invites rubber perishment and spring fracture. Examine brake discs and calipers for binding or uneven wear, and assess exhaust emissions under load given the diesel drivetrain's age. Structural integrity warrants a pit inspection for corrosion around sills and chassis members, though the MOT entries noted none. High mileage Caddys often develop wear in drivetrain mounts and steering joints absent from clean test sheets. A pre-purchase examination by a workshop remains prudent.
