2003 Toyota Yaris 1.3L Petrol · CA03 OWD

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a consistent pass record over the last three years. The most recent test conducted in August 2022 at 136,505 miles resulted in a pass with no recorded defects, indicating that the vehicle met all minimum safety standards at that time. This follows a clean pass in 2021 and 2020, suggesting that the car has not suffered from recurring mechanical failures or structural degradation during inspections. The mileage pattern is notably low for a vehicle of 23 years old, averaging approximately 5,935 miles per year. Between August 2021 and August 2022, the car covered 16,476 miles, which represents a significant spike in usage compared to the 1,910 miles recorded in the preceding year. The low overall mileage suggests less wear on the drivetrain and engine components, though the long periods of lower usage can sometimes lead to the degradation of rubber-based components and fluid chemistry. Despite the clean MOT history, a buyer must perform a thorough physical inspection of the chassis and suspension to account for the age of the vehicle. Given the age of this Toyota Yaris, corrosion on the structural sills and rear arches is a primary concern that MOT tests may not always catch until it becomes significant. You should also inspect the suspension bushes and coil springs for cracking, as these can perish over time regardless of low mileage. Checking the brake calipers for seizing or pitting is also advisable, as low-mileage vehicles often suffer from components that rust due to lack of use.
