2010 Toyota Yaris 1.3L Petrol · CA60 ABK

DVSA testers failed the Toyota Yaris on 19 December 2024 at 99,979 miles with no defects recorded, leaving the vehicle without a valid roadworthiness certificate. Prior entries show a repeated fail-pass cycle: on 15 December 2022 testers failed the car at 86,480 miles then passed it the same day, and on 19 December 2023 they failed it before passing on 20 December 2023 at 92,995 miles. This pattern indicates an administratively erratic history rather than a worsening mechanical trend, as no advisories or defects appear across any test. The maintenance trajectory looks stable in recorded component condition, yet the unexplained failures warrant caution. The odometer read 86,480 miles on 15 December 2022 and testers logged 92,995 miles by 20 December 2023, then 99,979 miles on 19 December 2024. Annual increments of roughly 6,500 and 7,000 miles track the lifetime average of 6,249 miles per year for this 2010 model. No rapid accumulation or anomalous gaps surface within the supplied span, though missing tests before late 2022 leave earlier wear unverified. Steady commuting distances of this order typically cycle brake discs, suspension bushes and exhaust emissions systems through regular heat and load. A buyer should not infer inherent faults from the blank defect listings, but same-day fail-pass occurrences demand independent verification of structural integrity and consumables. In person, inspect front coil springs for fracture, rear suspension bushes for deterioration, and brake calipers for binding given the age. Check sills and underbody for corrosion, and confirm exhaust emissions match expectations for a small Toyota petrol unit. The absence of recorded advisories does not exempt age-related wear; a professional pre-purchase inspection remains prudent.
