2023 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate T-GDI HEV Auto 1.6L Hybrid electric · CF61 MJF

The most recent MOT test conducted on 29 July 2026 resulted in a clean pass with no recorded defects or advisories. For a vehicle of this age, a clean MOT certificate is a positive indicator of its current roadworthiness and suggests that the vehicle has been maintained in a manner that meets all essential DVSA safety and environmental standards. The absence of any recorded failures or even minor advisories implies a stable maintenance history, though it is important to remember that an MOT is a snapshot in time and does not replace a comprehensive mechanical inspection. With a recorded mileage of 28,399 miles over approximately three years, the vehicle has covered an average of roughly 9,466 miles per year. This level of usage is entirely consistent with typical UK driving patterns for a modern SUV and suggests the vehicle has not been subjected to excessive wear from high-mileage motorway transit, nor has it suffered from the potential stagnation issues associated with extremely low-mileage vehicles. This balanced usage profile is generally favourable for the longevity of the hybrid drivetrain, suspension components, and braking system, as it implies regular operation of all mechanical parts. As the MOT record is clean, your physical inspection should focus on age-related wear and preventative maintenance. Closely examine the tyres for any signs of perishing or sidewall cracking, which can occur due to age and environmental exposure even if the tread depth remains high. Check the brake discs for any signs of heavy corrosion or pitting, particularly if the car has been stationary for periods, and ensure there is no evidence of binding calipers. During the test drive, pay close attention to the suspension for any clunks or knocks over uneven surfaces, which could indicate worn bushes or failing dampers, and monitor the braking performance for any shudder or pulsation. Given the hybrid nature of this Tucson, it is vital to verify the service history to ensure that all manufacturer-mandated intervals have been strictly adhered to. Check the service book for consistent stamps and ensure that time-based maintenance, such as brake fluid changes and coolant refreshes, has been performed alongside mileage-based services. You should also inspect the 12V auxiliary battery for signs of age and ensure that the hybrid system's cooling requirements are being met. Verifying that the vehicle has been serviced according to the manufacturer's calendar-based schedule will be the best way to ensure the continued reliability of the complex electronic and hybrid components.
