2007 BMW 123 2.0L Diesel · CO04 KOP

The most recent MOT test on 2026-03-21 confirms the vehicle remains roadworthy, with no defects recorded at 123,016 miles. Over the past five tests spanning nearly three years, there have been no advisories or failures, indicating a stable maintenance history. The absence of recurring issues suggests the vehicle has been consistently serviced or maintained at intervals that align with manufacturer recommendations, though this cannot be confirmed without service records. The latest test was conducted just four months ago, which is acceptable given the vehicle’s age and mileage, though a pre-purchase inspection remains essential to verify components not fully assessed by the MOT. The mileage progression shows a steady accumulation of approximately 6,475 miles per year, which is typical for a vehicle of this age. There are no significant gaps between tests that would raise concern, though the 2023 record includes a duplicate entry—one pass and one fail—both at the same mileage, which may indicate an administrative error rather than mechanical failure. The consistent mileage increments suggest the vehicle has not been left unused for prolonged periods, which could otherwise accelerate wear on suspension bushes, coil springs, or drivetrain components. Given the lack of MOT-reported faults, a buyer should prioritise an inspection of high-wear areas not fully covered by the test. Focus on the suspension, particularly the condition of rear coil springs and bushes, as these often degrade over 19 years without documented servicing. Binding rear brakes, while not noted in the MOT, could develop if the calipers or pads have not been replaced, so check for uneven wear or corrosion on the discs. Structural integrity should also be assessed, especially around wheel arches and sills, where corrosion can compromise the chassis over time. The absence of advisories does not guarantee these areas are sound, so a thorough visual and functional examination is advised.
