2012 Ford Focus 1.6L Diesel · CT62 HVZ

The 2012 Ford Focus presents a currently roadworthy status, having passed the most recent MOT test on 5 December 2025 at 182,022 miles with no defects recorded. The maintenance trend across the supplied history is stable, showing a clean bill of health at every passed examination. A minor administrative anomaly appears in the record: the vehicle failed on 5 December 2025 at the same mileage before passing later that same day, and likewise failed on 13 December 2023 at 161,770 miles before passing on 14 December 2023 at 161,772 miles, both failures listing no defects. This pattern indicates clerical or presentation errors at the test centre rather than mechanical non-compliance. The odometer shows 182,022 miles against an approximate 14-year lifespan, equating to roughly 13,000 miles per year and placing this car firmly in high-mileage territory for its age. Annual accumulation held consistent: the tester logged 161,772 miles in December 2023, 170,773 miles in December 2024, and 182,022 miles in December 2025, a steady 9,000 to 11,000 miles added each year. No extended dormant periods or sudden mileage spikes appear in the data. The record is sparse on advisories, with no corrosion, suspension bushes, brake discs, coil springs, or exhaust emissions concerns ever flagged across the four-year window. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of structural integrity and consumable wear before purchase. High mileage of this order accelerates degradation of suspension components, drivetrain seals, and brake calipers even when the MOT log stays clean. The absence of recorded advisories suggests previous owners addressed faults to test standard, yet the twin same-day fail-and-pass entries reveal lax test documentation that warrants scrutiny of the actual vehicle rather than blind trust in the certificate. Prioritise checking for overlooked minor wear such as tyre tread depth, wiper blades, and fluid condition, alongside a ramp examination of subframe corrosion and binding rear brakes. The repeated zero-defect passes imply competent basic upkeep, but at 182,022 miles the margin for undetected fatigue in chassis mounts and steering joints is narrow.
