2001 Hyundai Amica 1.0L Petrol · CU51 HHY

The Hyundai Amica presents a current roadworthy status backed by a pass recorded on 8 February 2024 at 46,957 miles, with no defects listed. The maintenance trend appears stable across the available record, though the same-date fail on 8 February 2024 with no defects noted points to an administrative or presentation anomaly rather than a mechanical fault. Prior to that, the car passed on 4 March 2022 at 46,182 miles after a fail three days earlier on 1 March 2022 at 46,142 miles, again with no defects recorded. At roughly 25 years old the vehicle shows just 46,957 miles, an average of about 1,878 miles per year. The gap between the March 2022 test at 46,182 miles and the February 2024 test at 46,957 miles covers only 775 miles in nearly two years, confirming extremely light use. Such low annual accumulation often signals long stationary periods, which can allow corrosion and perished rubber components to develop despite minimal wear to drivetrain parts. Because the DVSA entries flag no advisories or defects across any test, the history gives no evidence of recurring suspension bushes, brake disc wear, exhaust emissions failure, or structural integrity loss. The repeated fails with no defects recorded suggest clerical issues at the testing station rather than owner neglect of consumables such as tyres or wiper blades. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection focused on underbody corrosion, suspension arm bushes, and brake caliper binding given the vehicle's age and likely idle spells. Verify the timing belt history and check for flat-spotted tyres from standing. The clean MOT trail is reassuring, but paper cleanliness on a low-mileage 2001 car does not replace a hands-on check of ageing rubber and metal.
