2009 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0L Diesel · CV09 CFF

A pattern of intermittent component wear and minor lighting failures defines the mechanical history of this vehicle, which most recently achieved a clean pass on 31 October 2025. While the most recent two testing cycles show no recorded defects, the record includes previous failures regarding tyre integrity and lighting, alongside advisories concerning suspension bushes and brake pad thickness. The trend suggests a vehicle that has undergone necessary corrective maintenance to address specific wear items, moving from a period of recorded advisories in 2020 and 2022 to a more stable recent status. The recorded mileage of 126,516 miles over approximately 17 years equates to an annual average of roughly 7,442 miles. This usage profile is consistent with typical long-term patterns for a vehicle of this age, suggesting it has not been subjected to extreme high-mileage motorway use nor has it been left stationary for extended periods. Mechanically, this moderate accumulation means that while major drivetrain components may not have reached extreme mileage thresholds, consumable items such as suspension bushings, brake components, and tyres will have been subject to regular, steady degradation consistent with its age. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the suspension and braking systems, given the historical advisories for worn suspension arm pins and bushes in 2020 and thinning brake pads in 2022. During a test drive, listen for any dull knocking or clunking sounds when navigating uneven road surfaces or speed bumps, which could indicate that the suspension bushes have degraded again. Additionally, monitor the brake pedal for any unusual vibrations or judder under braking, and ensure there is no pulling to one side when applying pressure, which could suggest uneven pad wear or binding calipers. The 2022 failure regarding an offside rear tyre with exposed ply or cords highlights a previous instance of significant tyre degradation. Although the 2025 record is clear, a physical inspection of all four tyres is essential to check for uneven wear patterns, particularly on the inner edges, which can indicate alignment issues or worn suspension geometry. Furthermore, ensure all exterior lighting, specifically the offside front position lamp that caused a failure in October 2024, is fully operational to confirm that all electrical bulb replacements have been addressed.
