2005 Vauxhall Signum 1.9L Diesel · CV55 LFY

The Vauxhall Signum presents a current roadworthy status with a passed MOT recorded on 8 August 2024 at 134,521 miles, showing no defects. The maintenance trend reads as stable on paper, though the test history reveals a recurring administrative quirk: the vehicle failed and passed on the same date in both 2024 and 2022 with no defects logged. This pattern suggests clerical or presentation issues at the testing station rather than mechanical deterioration, and no worsening fault trajectory appears across the four-year span. Mileage accumulation sits at a typical 6,406 miles per year for a 21-year-old vehicle, with the odometer reading 134,517 miles at the 5 July 2022 pass and 134,521 miles by the 8 August 2024 pass. The record shows only four miles added across those two years, indicating the car stood largely idle or covered negligible distance in private use. Such low recent use can mask perished rubber components and seized brake calipers that a static MOT with no defects will not expose. A buyer should physically inspect the suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs for corrosion or binding given the long stationary periods. The clean advisory list offers no warning on tyre condition or exhaust emissions, yet wiper blades and tread depth may have degraded through disuse rather than wear. Verify the V5C and test station notes behind the same-day fail-pass entries before purchase. The structural integrity shows no flagged concern, but a 2005 vehicle of this type warrants a underside check for rust at sills and subframes irrespective of the MOT outcome.
