2021 Suzuki Swift SZ5 Dualjet Mhev 1.2L Hybrid electric (clean) · CV71 JWJ

The Suzuki Swift presents a stable and unblemished roadworthiness record. The most recent MOT, conducted on 1 September 2025 at 24,493 miles, passed with zero defects, advisories, or fails. This clean bill of health indicates that, at the time of testing, all critical safety and emissions systems met the required standard. The maintenance trend is stable, with no recurring faults or emerging mechanical concerns to flag. At roughly five years old, the recorded mileage of 24,493 miles equates to an average of approximately 4,899 miles per year. This is notably low for a vehicle of its age. The MOT history is sparse, with only the single 2025 entry available for analysis. The low annual mileage suggests the car has seen light use, potentially involving short trips or extended periods of standing. Such usage patterns can mask underlying issues, as infrequent driving may prevent the full thermal cycling needed to burn off moisture in the exhaust and engine oil, potentially accelerating corrosion in the exhaust system and DPF if fitted. Despite the clean MOT, a buyer should still conduct a thorough physical inspection. Low-mileage vehicles often suffer from deteriorated rubber components, including suspension bushes and tyre sidewalls, due to age-related cracking rather than wear. Inspect the underside for surface corrosion on brake lines, subframes, and suspension mounting points, as short journeys accelerate this deterioration. Check the condition of the brake discs and pads; infrequent use can lead to uneven corrosion on disc faces, causing judder or premature pad wear. Verify the operation of the mild hybrid system, including the starter-generator and 48-volt battery, as these components can degrade even with low mileage. A test drive over varied surfaces will reveal any suspension clunks or binding brakes that a static inspection might miss.
