2016 BMW X1 2.0L Diesel · CW05 WOK

The 2016 BMW X1 presents a currently roadworthy status following a passed MOT on 12 December 2025 at 72,094 miles with no defects recorded. The underlying maintenance trend is stable, with every annual test from December 2023 through December 2025 showing clean results aside from two anomalous failures logged on the same dates as passes, both at 49,303 and 72,094 miles, where the DVSA record lists no defects. Such paired fail-pass entries on identical mileages suggest administrative or submission errors at the testing station rather than mechanical faults requiring rectification. Annual mileage sits at a typical 7,209 miles per year for a ten-year-old vehicle. The odometer moved from 49,303 miles at the December 2023 test to 58,986 miles in December 2024, then jumped to 72,094 miles by December 2025, giving roughly 9,700 miles in the final year against under 10,000 across the prior two combined. The record is sparse and clean, with no advisories on tyres, brake discs, suspension bushes, coil springs, corrosion, or exhaust emissions across the visible history. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of structural integrity and consumable wear despite the absent advisories. The lack of flagged items over three years does not confirm component condition, only that the tester raised nothing. Priority checks should cover front suspension arm bushes, rear brake calipers for binding, subframe corrosion, and remaining tyre tread depth given the higher final-year mileage. The repeated same-day fail entries with zero defects warrant a DVSA record clarification before purchase. Clean MOTs at 49,303, 58,986, and 72,094 miles imply previous owners kept basic upkeep current, but the unexplained failures leave a minor provenance question the buyer should resolve.
