2011 Ford Fiesta 1.4L Diesel · CX61 VME

The Ford Fiesta failed its most recent MOT on 8 April 2026 at 105,442 miles, leaving the vehicle currently unroadworthy with no recorded defects to explain the failure. The maintenance trend shows a worsening pattern: the car failed and passed on the same day in October 2024 at 103,765 miles, then failed again eighteen months later. Sparse records and repeated failures suggest inconsistent upkeep rather than a stable service history. Mileage sat at 103,161 in January 2022 and crept to 103,765 by October 2024, an average of roughly 300 miles per year across that gap. A leap to 105,442 by April 2026 shows slightly higher use, but total distance of 2,281 miles over four years is abnormally low for a 15-year-old car. Long standing periods implied by this pattern raise the risk of seized calipers, flat-spotted tyres, and corrosion on structural members. The April 2026 failure with no listed defects points to an administrative or unrecorded mechanical fault; a buyer must confirm the exact reason at point of sale. The October 2024 same-day fail-pass cycle indicates a defect serious enough to stop the test yet fixed within hours, likely a worn tyre, failed lamp, or brake imbalance. Given the low annual mileage, inspect suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs for degradation from disuse rather than wear. Verify structural integrity underneath for rust, particularly sills and subframes, where standing damp accelerates corrosion. Check the exhaust for internal rot and confirm emissions against the 2011 petrol standard. The absent advisories across all entries do not guarantee clean condition; testers logged nothing, so a physical inspection of every consumable and chassis point remains essential before purchase.
