1987 Ford Sierra 2.0L Petrol · D300 BLM

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, maintaining a clean MOT record over the last three years. The most recent test conducted in July 2022 at 49,748 miles passed with no defects or advisories. This represents a significant improvement over the 2019 result, which flagged an exhaust leak and tyre wear, suggesting that the current owner has addressed previous maintenance requirements and kept the vehicle effectively. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 39-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 1,276 miles per year. Between July 2020 and July 2022, the car covered only 429 miles, indicating long periods of stationary or very infrequent short journeys. While this low mileage reduces mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine components, such low usage patterns often lead to the degradation of rubber-based parts and potential seizing of brake calipers that does not manifest through mileage alone. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the chassis, as older Ford models from this era are prone to corrosion in the sills, floor pans, and suspension mounts. Despite the clean record, the suspension system requires checking for perished bushes or cracked springs due to the lack of regular movement. The exhaust system noted in 2019 should also be inspected to ensure the previous leak was fully rectified and has not developed new rust or fractures at the manifold or hangers.
