2003 Nissan X-Trail 2.2L Diesel · DA52 WMT

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2023-06-12 at 139,498 miles recorded a pass with no defects, indicating a stable roadworthiness status. The prior 2022-06-20 test also passed, but a 2022-06-02 failure at 134,519 miles—without recorded defects—suggests an anomaly or procedural issue. No further details are available, but the absence of recurring faults in subsequent tests implies no worsening trends. The 2021-06-08 MOT at 130,951 miles also passed, confirming a consistent maintenance pattern over the past three years. Mileage progression shows a gradual increase from 130,951 miles in 2021 to 139,498 in 2023, averaging approximately 4,500–5,000 miles annually. This aligns with the vehicle’s age and suggests regular use rather than prolonged inactivity. However, the 2022-06-02 failure occurred just 18 days before the subsequent pass, raising questions about the reliability of that test. The MOT history is sparse, with only four entries spanning 2.5 years, limiting insight into long-term mechanical trends. A buyer should inspect the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as these components often degrade with age. The absence of brake-related defects in MOT records does not eliminate the need to check for binding calipers or uneven brake disc wear, which may not trigger immediate failures. Structural corrosion, particularly in the underbody or chassis, warrants scrutiny, as rust can compromise integrity over 23 years. The vehicle’s drivetrain and engine should also be assessed for signs of wear, given its high mileage and age.
