2004 Ford Galaxy 1.9L Diesel · DC04 UZH

The 2004 Ford Galaxy presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the most recent test on 28 October 2024 at 171,939 miles returning a pass with no defects recorded. Across the three preceding annual tests the vehicle also passed cleanly, showing no escalating faults or recurring advisory items in the official record. The mileage progression is consistent with typical use for a 22-year-old vehicle. The October 2021 test at 156,422 miles rose to 162,151 miles by November 2022, then 166,745 miles in October 2023 and 171,939 miles in October 2024, equating to roughly 5,500 miles per year over that span and below the lifetime average of 7,815. A duplicate entry exists for 1 November 2022 showing both a fail and pass at 162,151 miles with no defects logged, likely an administrative re-test rather than a genuine mechanical fault. The DVSA history is sparse and clean, recording no advisories on suspension bushes, brake discs, corrosion, or exhaust emissions at any stage. Given the absence of flagged defects, a buyer should still commission a physical inspection of structural integrity and underbody corrosion, as a Galaxy of this age and mileage commonly develops rust on sills and subframes not always caught in a short MOT bay check. The front suspension arms, coil springs, and brake calipers warrant hands-on examination for binding or wear despite the clean test outcomes. Verify the 1 November 2022 failure entry with DVLA paperwork to confirm it was a paperwork or retest anomaly and not a concealed defect.
