2016 Volkswagen Golf R DSG 2.0L Petrol · DG16 AAK

The vehicle currently presents a stable roadworthiness status following a period of clean testing results. The most recent inspection conducted on 22 March 2025 at 88,066 miles resulted in no defects or advisories, indicating that the mechanical and structural issues identified in late 2022 were successfully rectified. Since that period, the car has maintained a clean record across annual tests, suggesting a consistent level of recent maintenance. The mileage pattern is consistent with a ten-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 8,800 miles per year. There is a notable gap of 16,564 miles between the February 2024 test at 72,702 miles and the March 2025 test at 88,066 miles, which represents a higher rate of usage compared to the previous year. However, the interval between December 2022 at 56,169 miles and the subsequent annual test shows the vehicle was driven significantly less, suggesting it may have been stored or used only for short trips during that specific window. While the recent history is clean, the double failure in November and December 2022 at 55,835 and 56,029 miles indicates a specific point where the vehicle required significant attention. A buyer should verify the nature of those past failures through service records to ensure repairs were permanent rather than temporary fixes. Given the age and mileage of this Golf R, a physical inspection should focus on the condition of the suspension bushes, the state of the brake discs, and the integrity of the DSG gearbox, as these components endure high stress on high-performance models as they approach the 90,000-mile mark.
