2014 Audi A3 2.0L Diesel · DK14 WBX

The vehicle's overall roadworthiness is currently good, but the MOT history indicates a significant risk of structural degradation. In the September 2023 test at 128,898 miles, the tester flagged binding rear brakes, which is a critical warning sign of potential corrosion or wear that could compromise suspension integrity and braking performance. This defect was confirmed in the September 2026 test at 160,469 miles, where the same binding condition persisted, suggesting the issue has not been resolved and may continue to worsen over the next few years. The mileage pattern reveals a rapid accumulation of 13,372 miles per year, which is high for a 2014 model. This speed is inconsistent with typical usage patterns; typically, a vehicle in this age group should accumulate significantly less mileage if it is maintained correctly. The fact that the mileage increased by such a large amount between March 2022 and March 2023 suggests the owner may have been driving heavily or the vehicle was not properly serviced during this period, leading to accelerated wear on the suspension, brakes, and drivetrain components. Given the recurring failure of the binding brakes and the rapid mileage growth, a buyer must inspect the vehicle in person immediately to rule out structural rust, corrosion, or suspension bushings. The history indicates that basic upkeep was likely skipped during the 2023–2024 period, meaning the car is currently in a state of high risk for imminent failure. If the brakes show any signs of binding, structural integrity is compromised, and the mileage continues to increase, the vehicle should be taken to a professional mechanic for an immediate full inspection and repair before it reaches the end of its MOT validity.
